Exceptional food. Unexpectedly fabulous. Fresh food. We had the mussels and the clams appetizers. Wow! The salmon was best ever. Pesto pasta superb. Ribeye delicious. How you make a pizza taste like that I don't know. Laid back very casual. Takes time to put all this wonder together. We enjoyed putting the phones away and just having a good meal and time together. Bakery, pizza, fabulous entrees all in one place.
I will say up front - best pizza ever. I still have dreams about it and drool at the thought. Everyone in our group agreed the food was worth every penny we paid. The night we were there the menu included Ribeye and Cornish Game Hen - both were outstanding. The sides and plating are great as well. Staff was super friendly and it was pretty cool to watch the food being prepared in the open kitchen. The decor is very kitschy and while the seating is not comfortable, its acceptable. Only a couple of things keep it from 5 stars. They are understaffed for the amount of traffic that they get. Slow food preparation is fine, waiting long periods to place an order or get drinks is a little harder to deal with. The friendliness makes up for this and keeps the 4 stars. We loved the open doors, but it does make for a LOT of flies buzzing around. And finally, at some point during our meal the staff took a smoke break out back. Normally no biggie, I'm sure it was a stressful night. But with the open doors in front and back it blew the smoke thru the restaurant and across our table and was not pleasant. Despite that, it is a place I highly recommend (if you are patient and have the time) and I will DEFINITELY go back!
Tasty huge portions for breakfast and lots of eye candy adorning the brightly colored walls. Amiable atmosphere with a central kitchen allowing you to watch your food being prepared. Sometimes with a crowd it can be a bit slow. So patience might be required.
Not a greasy spoon at all, as per previous reviewer. Really unique and delicious food. Coffee was great, too. Staff was friendly and proud of their product. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the service. They have a sign reminding us that they are 'good food, not fast food'. This true and good food deserves patience. This was the slowest service I've seen. Before and after the meal. So, I don't think it's about how long the food takes. They simply had more clients than the staff could handle. Don't let this keep you away, tho. At least try it. The food is great. Maybe the service thing was an isolated incident. I'm, going back.
The salad was beautiful with great greens, and the blue cheese dressing was awesome. The pizza was creative and delicious. And the hard cider was excellent. Great selection of brews and wonderful service in outdoor covered setting.
